The Power of Water

Niagara Falls is an amazing natural wonder.  The United States and Canada have shared the Niagara River's water power—along with a commitment to preserve the beauty of the Falls—for nearly half a century.  I had the opportunity to visit Niagara Falls and the Niagara River last week and truly was amazed by the power of water.  Niagara Falls is the oldest state park in the USA.
I live and work in the white water rafting industry, taking people whitewater rafting on Maine's rivers and understand the power water inflicts.  But, when you see Niagara Falls and stand at the rivers edge, 3160 tons of water flow over Niagara Falls every second and the water falls from a height of 167 feet.  It is a remarkable and beautiful natural wonder that you should visit, when your not visiting Maine, of course!
